In the Office: 5210P

There are two means of accessing the lab computer in 5210P. In the lab there is one machine setup for Experiment development, which access using your Carleton login information (e.g. jsmith@connect...). It is important to note that not all software installed on the computer will appear in the Windows menu. You have to manually search out E-Prime in the Program Files directory on the computer and create a desktop link to it.

(Note: Rob is in the process of getting better access to E-Prime on this machine)

You can also login to a general student account with the following information, although you won't have access to your Carleton G: drive.

username: student

password: Test123

(if that doesn't work, maybe Override I think or 0verride)

The security is obviously very strong!

In the Experiment Running Room: 5210N

There are two machines in this room, neither of which requires a password to login. The computer you run participants on is on the desk facing the W wall (the black IBM machine). Attached is a microphone, speakers, and the E-Prime response box (which at this point isn't functional). Currently the following software is installed on this machine: E-Prime, VisionEgg 1.1, Python, OpenOffice, and an Evaluation copy of SPSS 13.

On the other desk in the Experiment running room there is a second computer for you to use while participants are running their experiment. Please let Rob Thomson (noblephoenix@gmail.com) know if you need any software added to the machine. Additionally on this desk is a second monitor which echoes the display from the participant's computer screen. This is so that you can keep track of what the participant is doing on the computer without lording over him/her.
