Using SONA for Cognitive Science

Page history last edited by Jim Davies 6 years, 3 months ago

In CGSC1001, 0.5% units for each 30 minutes of participation for students.

ICS faculty and students can now start using the SONA system for Cognitive Science. Students in Jim Davies' CGSC 1001 class can now earn up to 4% bonus credits towards their final grade by participating in experiments, with 1% per hour of participation. Details are available at http://carleton.ca/ics/current-students/undergraduate-3/participating-in-psychological-research-sona/

Student and faculty using the SONA system will be first required to obtain ethics clearance for their project. Once ethics clearance has been obtained, contact Matthew Hull (matthewhull@cmail.carleton.ca), the ICS SONA administrator. Provide Matthew with your ethics approval info and he will allow you access to SONA so you can post your experiment recruitment notice. You will need to record who participates in your experiment in order to provide participants with their credits.

In conjunction with SONA becoming available, remember that the ethics committee for faculty and students in Cognitive Science to submit their applications is CUREB-A. Seehttps://carleton.ca/curo/ethics-and-compliance/ethics/how-to-apply/

Many thanks to Kasia Muldner for her work in getting SONA ready for use in ICS. Thanks also to Matthew Hull for serving as the SONA administrator.
